Our mission is to cultivate and preserve knowledge, skills, and capacity for integrating culture into our lives to advance Indigenous Food Sovereignty, guided by ancestral knowledge.
We are dedicated to Indigenous cultural preservation and renewal: we research, design, create and bring forward solutions for a nourished and sustainable future through environmental stewardship & management and through arts & education.
We outreach to and engage with BIPOC youth, elders and families (especially single parent homes) and individuals seeking equity and equity denied. Our mission is to elevate the conditions of the lives of these community members - improving the social determinants of health.
We are growing an Indigenous Cultural Food Hub, located at our Fieldhouse in Strathcona Park, Vancouver, which we are developing alongside the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
We are committed to preserving ancestral wisdoms and traditional culinary arts; fostering inter-cultural practices and creating solidarity and sustenance economies, by developing reciprocal relational frameworks, projects, enterprises and cultural spaces where we practice together.
We are strengthening vital connections with the land, water, people, plants, and animals in our every day; growing food and restoring landscapes towards climate justice.
We work together to grow access to traditional and nutritional food; building fair-trade relationships to food sourcing outside of agro-industry; encouraging networks and redistribution of resources through BIPOC solidarity; creating precedence and removing barriers for access to traditional-cultural and culinary practices.
We host programming that offers traditional food alongside access to land and cultural based skills through connection to pathways of salmon, bison, potato and corn; we are building our own Milpa system - representing many plants from many cultures from Turtle Island.
